Hi Everyone!
I’m taking a couple weeks off from the project, as I’ll be working on an organic farm in Quebec and won’t have access to a computer. I hope to come back with lots of inspiration!
Have a wonderful week, and if you’re missing the songs, you could always listen to any that you missed by viewing the Complete Track List.
See you when I get back,

First off, two public service announcements!
1) The next song will be posted on Monday, June 2, because I won’t be able to record anything for the next couple of weeks…because I’M GETTING TIME OFF WORK! I will be spending it Wwoofing on a farm in La Belle Provence, where I intend to practice my French, take lots of hikes, and of course, get my hands really dirty. I am bringing my guitar though, so garbled versions of Old McDonald might happen!
2) For those who are interested, my choir concert is on Sunday, June 1st at 2:00pm at St. Lawrence Hall on King Street. We’ll be singing Victorian repertoire in several languages. Susie and I will be singing our own duet: Rossini’s Comic Duet for Two Cats, complete with pink feather boa! If you’d like to come, let me know and I can give you all the details. Would love to see you there!
And now onto the song…
Guilty is about those relationships that suck the energy right out of you, even though you know they’re not supposed to. Guilt after a particularly trying episode prompted me to attempt rationalize mine, in the hopes that it will help in the long run. Here goes!

Guilty
I’m sorry I don’t come ’round as often as I know I should
I’m sorry that I am guarded, I would speak truly if I could
In your pain you mistake me for limitless
In your pain you mistake yourself for powerless
I’m guilty for feeling poisoned when you announce you want to die
I’m guilty for being selfish because I never ask you why
In your pain you mistake me for infinite
In your pain you make me feel so powerless,
and I look away because I can’t bare to find myself in you again
never again
never again
I’m sorry I don’t come ’round as often as I know I should.

With absolutely nothing and the clock ticking closer to midnight, I did the only thing I possibly could: set myself one hour to write and record and give up trying to be sensical. Alliteration is fun. This was recorded super quickly all in one take (with another take for the harmony on the last verse). It’s a bit of rough fluff, but ah well, a song’s a song!

Ghosts graze on the green grass that
grows gigantic a bazillion blades of
Bluebells and bubbles bounce then
burst broken and roaring onto
Red roads roaming, rambling
redone and revised
I’ve got nothing profound to say
got nothing profound to say today
Whiteness wonders where it will
willing its whimscal wisdom to
Drink the darkness, dank and
dreary and drowning
I’ve got nothing profound to say
got nothing profound to say today
Ghosts graze on the green grass that
grows gigantic a bazillion blades of
Bluebells and bubbles bounce then
burst broken and roaring onto
Red roads roaming, rambling
redone and revised
I’ve got nothing profound to say
I’ve got nothing profound today
I’ve got nothing profound today
